Commenting on the announcement from the Health Minister Andy Kerr today that he has approved NHS Grampian’s proposals to close Maud Hospital and replace it with community-based services and services for older people, local MSP Stewart Stevenson said:
“In considering the future of Maud Hospital the needs of the patients currently in the hospital must be put first.
“There must be absolutely no question of moving anyone to a facility remote from friends and family, or which lacks the personalised care that can be delivered in a small village unit.”
