Local SNP MSP Stewart Stevenson has arranged a Lottery Funding Roadshow to try and redress the current low level of Lottery Funding in the North-east.
The Roadshow will run from 2.30pm to 8.00pm at the Waterside Inn, Fraserburgh Road, Peterhead on Monday 22nd March 2004, and will be attended by staff from six different Lottery Funding agencies.
Mr. Stevenson said:
“Between them, Community Fund, Scottish Arts Council, Heritage Lottery Fund, Sportscotland, Scottish Land Fund and Fresh Futures handle applications for a wide variety of projects. I am delighted by their response to my invitation. Lottery Funding take-up in the North-east has been extremely low to date, and I feel that this will present an ideal opportunity for representatives of local groups and organisations to meet with the agencies and discuss funding possibilities.”
Stewart Stevenson has invited a number of people who have previously indicated an interest in attending, and he is actively promoting the event to other organisations that may benefit from Lottery Funding.
“I would encourage members of any local group to visit the Roadshow and investigate the possibility of attracting grant assistance for their projects. The agency representatives will be delighted to discuss the potential suitability of any project and advise how to set about making a claim.”
