Banff & Buchan MSP Stewart Stevenson has highlighted the importance of Tinnitus Awareness Week, which is taking place this week.
Commenting, Mr Stevenson said:
“During Tinnitus Awareness Week 2011, the BTA (British Tinnitus Association) will build upon their success of their last campaign, which addressed the impact of exposure to loud music and how this exposure can cause tinnitus and permanent hearing damage.
“It is extremely important to raise awareness of tinnitus, which is a debilitating condition due to the detrimental impact expose to loud music can affect a person’s hearing. The BTA has a freephone helpline 0800 018 0527 which is used by thousands of people each year and for those wishing further information, they should visit the website: http://www.tinnitus.org.uk/.”
