Banff & Buchan MSP Stewart Stevenson has welcomed the announcement that members of the public will be given the opportunity to submit questions to NHS Chairs, Chief Executives and Directors at the annual Government reviews this year.
Commenting Mr. Stevenson said;
"I strongly welcome the fact that members of the public will be given the opportunity to hold NHS managers to account on the performance of their NHS boards and also that the responses will be a matter of public record.
"This process is very different from previous years when members of the public were allowed to attend but not permitted to ask any questions.
"There will be a dedicated slot during the meeting where the Minister and the NHS Board members will discuss publicly the questions that have been asked.
"The review of Grampian NHS Board will be held in September, and I hope that members of the public in Banff & Buchan will grasp this opportunity to ask questions about issues that are of concern to them about their local NHS board."
