Banffshire
& Buchan Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson has
highlighted the importance of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, which takes
place this month.
Commenting,
Mr Stevenson said:
“I hope that the awareness campaign will succeed in its
aims to raise the profile of prostate cancer considering that it is the most
common cancer in men and that the disease kills 10,000 men in the UK every year
(with around 36,000 diagnosis each year).
“It is vital that we all increase our understanding of the
disease as well as be able to recognise possible symptoms so that early
detection is possible.
