This was up 63% compared to the previous year - with applications substantially higher due to increasing financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Banffshire and Buchan Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson has welcomed the support given to families.
Commenting, Stewart Stevenson MSP said:
“In only a five-month period between March and July, the Scottish Government has supported some of the most vulnerable families by increasing investment in Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs).
“This has helped to support people on low incomes and facing financial hardship amid the impact of COVID-19.
“I would urge anyone in the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency who may need it to apply. This will be particularly important as we approach the end of the UK Government’s furlough scheme.”
