Born in 1946 and brought up in Cupar, Fife, I was educated at the local school - 
Banffshire & Buchan Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson is raising awareness of World Blood Donor Day, which takes place on Thursday 14th June.
Commenting, Mr Stevenson said:
“I am happy to raise awareness of this important initiative and to stress the need for safe blood and blood products to aid efficient delivery of health care. The value of giving blood should not be underestimated.
“I would also like to thank all voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood – they are all unsung heroes.
“Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to urge everyone who can to make every effort to give blood as they will literally be saving lives by doing so.”
