MSP Welcomes Expansion of Local Oil Company

Banffshire & Buchan Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson has welcomed the announcement from Northern Oils of their latest expansion.
Workington Harbour
Lintmill-based National fuel and lubricant supplier Northern Oils announced this week that they will commence operations from their new site at Workington on 1 March. The Cumbrian Storage Terminal represents a key location for the group who have land and sea operations around most of the UK coastline. The Workington facility benefits from having road, rail and sea loading facilities meaning it will become a key fuel storage and distribution centre for the North of England in particular with millions of litres held on site. It is anticipated that at least one of Northern Oils own ships will operate from the Port of Workington.

Commenting, Mr Stevenson said:

“This is further good news for local company Northern Oils and I congratulate David Wood and his team at Lintmill on this expansion.

“Northern Oils is obviously a well-established and familiar feature in the North of Scotland, particularly in our fishing ports, but I’m delighted for the company that they will now also be operating from a key location that allows them to serve the North of England, Ireland and the Isle of Man.”
